Welcome to Swoon Sunday where you get to meet some of our swoon-worthy heroes. Today we have a visit from Dylan Dennings from The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley!
Please describe your physical appearance for us.
I’ve been told I look like I walked out of a surfboard commercial: blond, blue eyes, six-ish feet, tan.
What’s your profession?
High school senior and baseball player (see #1: Tan)
Where do you call home?
Suttonville, Texas, home of the state champion Sentinels.
Do you have a special skill?
I can throw a ninety MPH fastball. Along with a few other pitches I have up my sleeve.
What is your biggest dream/wish/desire?
My Plan (capital P) is to make the minors straight out of high school, and hit the major league by the time I’m twenty-three. I’ll do anything it takes to get there.
Describe your idea of an ideal date.
Going out on the lake, and maybe finding a secluded beach somewhere. Watching for shooting stars and, if I’m with the right girl, taking a quick skinny dip in the moonlight. Damn, that sounded pretty romantic. Maybe I’m not the “Iceman” everyone claims I am.
Describe the craziest thing you have done.
Did I mention skinny dipping? In a public lake? And, if I’m honest, the sun wasn’t even all the way down, so…
Who is your idol?
Nolan Ryan, for both his fastball and the way he took zero crap from surly batters. Zero. Crap. I’d love to stay that cool under pressure.
What is your favorite sports team?
The Texas Rangers. I know—you probably expected me to be a Yankees fan, but…nah.
About The Perfectly Imperfect Match:
Pitcher Dylan Dennings has his future all mapped out: make the minors straight out of high school, work his way up the farm system, and get called up to the majors by the time he’s twenty-three. The Plan has been his sole focus for years, and if making his dreams come true means instituting a strict “no girls” policy, so be it.
Lucy Foster, needlepoint ninja, big sister to an aspiring pitcher, and chicken advocate, likes a little mayhem. So what if she gets lost taking her brother to baseball camp…at her own high school? The pitching coach, some hotshot high school player, obviously thinks she’s a hot mess. Too bad he’s cute, because he’s so not her type.
Problem is, they keep running into each other, and every interaction sparks hotter than the last. But with Dylan’s future on the line, he has to decide whether some rules are made to be broken…
Disclaimer: This book contains a crazy night of moonlit skinny-dipping, a combustible crush, and kisses swoony enough to unwind even the most Type A athlete.
